What is the route?
Inspired by a scavenger hunt, Hepcat’s route is kept secret until 1 p.m. on race day. All checkpoints are contained within downtown Raleigh.
How do I register? What is the cost?
Online registration is $10, and can be completed on our website. Day-of registration is $15.
We accept all major credit cards, as well as Paypal. Virtual riders may sleep in for cats! Virtual Rider registration is $10 and can be completed online.
What’s the money for?
Hepcat is a charity ride, with all proceeds going to benefit SAFE Haven Cat Shelter & Clinc. For twenty years, SAFE Haven—a nonprofit, no-kill shelter—has provided the Triangle with low-cost spay and neuter services, along with adoptions and public education. Through the race, Hepcat aims to raise enough money to sponsor the adoption fees of all the cats currently residing in the shelter. Learn more about SAFE Haven through our website, or visit them here.
What can I win?
Hepcat aims to connect cycling, music and animal enthusiasts together for a fun and challenging race, and our sponsors have generously donated prizes based on all three groups of interest. First, second and third prizes will include cycling-related gifts from Oak City Cycling, Chrome Industries, State Bicycle Co., Bagaboo, Outlier, Knog, Baileyworks, Hold Fast and fyxaxtion.
Music, including CDs and LPs, will come from Three Lobed Records, Dead Oceans, Merge, Profound Lore and Tompkins Square Records.
Raffle (tickets sold separately): For those unable to ride, we will also offer a drawing for top prizes, with all raffle ticket proceeds going directly to SAFE Haven.
